2010Nick Reed. Only in Hollywood can you go from being a British Royal Navy Pilot to being cast by Steven Spielberg in the film HOOK to becoming the Head of International Creative Management's Motion Picture Department, and according to the London Times, one of the most influential Brits in Hollywood. After moving to the US in 1992, he was cast by Steven Spielberg to play Robin Williams' father in the film HOOK and then later cast by Francis Ford Coppola in DRACULA. Intrigued by Hollywood, he joined ICM in an effort to understand the making of movies. He rose quickly at ICM, going on to become the Head of the Motion Picture Literary Department. Working with writers, directors, and actors, Reed has been involved with such movies as MY BIG FAT GREEK WEDDING, AUSTIN POWERS I, II and III, ELIZABETH, TRAINING DAY, BRIDGET JONES DIARY, MOULIN ROUGE, THE BOURNE IDENTITY SERIES, MONSTER'S BALL, WHITE NOISE, UNDERWORLD I, II and III, MEET THE PARENTS, MEET THE FOCKERS, BORAT, LIVE FREE DIE HARD, PRINCE OF PERSIA, among many others. In television, he was involved with the successful CSI series franchise, and the relaunch of HAWAII 5-0, among others. Nick spent his career championing talented artists and their film, television and documentary projects. Now in his new entrepreneurial role as a strategic producing partner, he is enthusiastically bringing a diverse slate of projects to reality across all media. Nick is currently the owner of Reed Entertainment, co-owner of Hollywood Media Bridge, a film and Distribution Company, co-owner of Contagious, a viral video and YouTube marketing company, and owner of Kallisti Media, a Science and Technology company. He has served on the LA British Film Board where he has advised the government on film policies as well as providing industry guidance for government ministers. He has also advised the Finnish government on their film and entertainment business, and in addition, Nick is a guest speaker for UCLA's graduate film program.
